Synopsis: Zombies take over the East End of London. It’s quite a simple premise really, but a small band of survivors attempt to save the lives of residents from an Old Peoples’ home.

Main Cast: Michelle Ryan, Honor Blackman, Alan Ford, Georgia King, Harry Treadaway, Rasmus Hardiker, Richard Briers

The Hype: Billed as a mashup between Shaun of the Dead and Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, this B movie hit our screens in August of this year. As for hype, don’t get too excited folks…

What I Thought: Sometimes a cheap movie is just what the doctor ordered. In this case however, I have seen better. It is a bit of fun really with some slick titles and a few names in it, but really its just crap, lol. The story is pretty simple and what more do you require from a B movie. I have seen better attempts though such as Hot Fuzz or Attack The Block. This fits into the same category as those, but its not as funny. You would be forgiven for sticking to watching the trailer and leaving it at that because the best bits literally are there. However, the movie is worth it for the chase scene between Briers’ character Hamish and a zombie and the great Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore no less) saying the “F” word in an aggressive manner. The special effects are actually pretty decent and although done cheaply, the makeup department obviously put a lot of time into this project.

Conclusions: Good for some laughs, some nice production and its an easy 90 minutes viewing.
