Synopsis: A small town has a curse. Children have been disappearing from it for years and are never seen again. The only explanation for the children going missing is The Tall Man, a mysterious figure who has been seen escaping into the woods. No-one knows for sure if he really exists, or if he is just stuff of legend.

Main Cast: Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, Stephen McHattie, William B Davis, Samantha Ferris, Colleen Wheeler, Eve Harlow

The Hype: This relatively low budget thriller looked alright from the trailer and there wasn’t much made of it at the cinema as regards promoting it. I suppose Jessica Biel’s name lends it some star quality, but in the same way as Christian Slater does these days. (He does not appear in this movie)

What I Thought: Not an earth mover for me. There was a nice twist which did catch me a little by surprise, but once the big reveal had been made, the rest of the movie was pretty much a non entity. It’s a typical tension building film with a decent enough plotline, but its nothing that hasn’t been done before really and I wasn’t overly impressed. This is one of those Christmas stocking filler DVD’s that will make an extra gift if you can’t think of anything else to buy your loved ones, but don’t really love them THAT much, lol.

Conclusions: An okay storyline, but overall pretty poor movie. A nice twist, but revealed too early and the rest of the movie is very predictable after that. Don’t rush out and buy it for your DVD collection.
