It was available, so I watched it. This is a story about a guy who decides to climb onto a ledge outside the Roosevelt Hotel. As the police negotiator tries to talk him down, it becomes apparent that there is much more going on than first meets the eye.

Sam Worthington stars as an ex-policeman turned criminal who manages to escape prison and then checks himself into a hotel and for no apparent reason goes onto the ledge outside his hotel room. As the film progresses, we discover the real reason for him being out there and whether his elaborate plan will be pulled off or will it all come to a sticky end. Also starring are Elizabeth Banks as the negotiator with whom he confides and works with eventually to expose the true crime that is the root of this plan to stand on a little ledge threatening to kill himself. Jamie Bell plays the brother.

It’s basically a heist/revenge movie, but it’s not actually very good. It’s all very predictable and there isn’t too much to think about, I guess the cast and crew do an admirable job, but lets face it, this movie isn’t going to win any awards. There’s a nice performance by Ed Harris as the bad guy, but he doesn’t get nearly enough screen time for an actor of his stature. What I will say though is that it was better than Contraband, but not by much, I’ll give it a 5/10 and say that if you’re a fan of Worthington, then you’ll probably like it, if you like good heist movies, you probably won’t. Heres the trailer…which basically gives away the whole plot of the movie…lol
